Learning the ever-advancing technology of boats can seem daunting, to say the least. Captain Kevin has over 40 years of practical experience, as well as up-to-date training from some of the most respected boat builders in the country.
Just a few of the areas of training will include:
- Electronics: Advancements in marine electronics will give the educated boater a huge advantage, as well as the confidence to navigate your boat safely.
- Docking: Learning to maneuver your boat in multiple conditions with ease and safety.
- Joystick Piloting: Many new boats are equipped with a joystick system to aid in maneuvering and docking. Learning the secrets to using this technology properly will make you a much better and safer boater.
- Anchoring: Whether it's anchoring over your favorite fishing spot or holding you safely in a storm. Anchoring is a critical part of seamanship.
- Beaching: When, where, and how to beach your boat will add to your enjoyment on the water.
- Boating Rules: Knowing the rules will always make you a safer and more competent boater.
- Tides and Local Knowledge: Because our local waters present challenges to the new boater, Let NCS help you learn several tips and practices that will keep you safe and ensure a pleasant day on the water.
Full Systems Check
Includes plug-in shore power for battery charger startup main motors. Check steering and gear case operation. Test auto/manual operation of bilge pumps, nav/anchor lights, GPS functionality, VHF radio check, horn, stereo, and live well pump. Report back findings and note any defects.
Pre-Purchase Inspection
Whether you are looking to upsize, downsize, or change the style of boat that suits your needs, it is extremely important to answer a few questions;
1. New or used 2. How will you use your boat, what amenities are important to you, etc.? NCS will help you find the best possible boat for your needs. From visiting dealerships to Sea trials. NCS will be there and guide you in choosing the right boat for you.
Pre-Delivery Inspections
Once you have selected the boat that fits your lifestyle, we will check the entire vessel and give you a detailed report on our findings. Because we are not affiliated with a particular dealer or brand, we will give you an honest interpretation of what should be addressed before you sign on the dotted line.
Delivery Service
The captain will relocate your vessel from one location to another, move a boat from your home lift to service and return, relocate your vessel to another lift, and run your boat from your lift to a boat ramp. The captain's rate will include transportation charges and time.
Storm Prep
Most Insurance companies require a storm preparation plan. These plans can range from doubling up lines on your boat lift, to moving the boat to an authorized hurricane-rated storage location. Capt. Kevin can work with your insurance company to tailor a plan to suit your needs. As a licensed expert captain, Capt. Kevin has built relationships with several insurance companies, resulting in significant savings for the policyholder.
Captain Service
Captain will charter your restaurant brunch, lunch, or dinner cruise. We also offer sightseeing and fishing cruises.
Consultant Service
The captain is available to answer questions regarding your boat if and when they arise.
